Fresh

As part of its commitment to a sustainable future, Louis Dreyfus Armateurs unveils FRESH (Floating Renewable Energy Solutions for Hydrogen and its derivatives), an innovative new vessel designed to meet the logistical challenges of the energy transition.

The global demand for hydrogen, methanol, and ammonia is growing rapidly. To support this shift, LDA offers a modular, flexible, and sustainable logistics model.

FRESH can provide:

  • Low-carbon bunkering (bunker ship for ammonia, methanol and hydrogen)
  • Hydrogen supply (vessel with ammonia storage and cracking facilities)
  • End-to-end logistics of low carbon energy

FRESH is a particularly flexible and mobile solution for hydrogen supply. Its cracking plant converts ammonia into gaseous hydrogen. The hydrogen is then compressed and offloaded to shore to continuously and on demand supply industries and heavy mobility. The main benefits are :

  • Hydrogen supply at the point of need
  • Avoids land acquisition and port space limitations
  • International maritime rules
  • Moves with demand; no stranded assets
  • Adaptable to changing supply hubs
