2013 to 2017

2013
The cable-laying activities, developed since the partnership with Alcatel Submarine Networks in 2000, gained increasing importance, with a fleet already comprising around ten cable ships flying the French flag.

2014
LDA sold Fairmount Marine, a subsidiary acquired in 2007 and specialized in deep-sea towing with its powerful 16,000 hp tugs. The company was sold to the Dutch group Boskalis, marking a strategic refocus of LDA toward other higher value-added maritime activities. This sale illustrated the management’s desire to reposition the Group in innovative and promising sectors such as submarine cables, industrial logistics, and specialized vessels.

2015
Generational transition: In July 2015, Édouard Louis-Dreyfus (born in 1974), son of Philippe, officially took over as President of LDA. Philippe remained Chairman of the Supervisory Board, ensuring family continuity while entrusting the fifth generation with the leadership of the company.
End of the seismic fleet: The long-standing partnership with Compagnie Générale de Géophysique (CGG), initiated in 1991, came to an end. The fall in oil prices led to major difficulties for CGG and to the gradual decommissioning of seismic vessels between 2015 and 2016. This marked the end of a significant chapter for LDA, which had built recognized expertise in this field.

2016
Continued diversification: Following the exit from the seismic sector, LDA accelerated its redeployment strategy toward marine renewable energies (MRE), submarine cables, and industrial logistics. The foundations were laid for the company’s reorientation toward maritime activities linked to the energy transition, confirming the strategic vision of Philippe and Édouard Louis-Dreyfus.

2017
Entry into marine renewable energies (MRE): LDA signed a strategic contract with Ørsted to support offshore wind farms, marking its official entry into the MRE sector. That same year, LDA took over the technical management of the Marion Dufresne vessel operated for the French Southern and Antarctic Lands, beginning a new chapter in offshore wind operations.
