LD Freight Solutions Renews Partnership with Airbus Canada for A220 Aircrafts Components Transport
LD Freight Solutions, a subsidiary of the LD Armateurs group, has renewed its multi‑year contract with Airbus Canada Limited Partnership to manage the maritime transport of A220 components between China and Canada. The new agreement reaffirms the strength of a relationship that has been in place between LDA and Airbus for nearly 25 years.
Since October 1, 2021, LD Freight Solutions has overseen the shipment of components produced in Shenyang, China, to the final assembly line in Mirabel, Canada.

Loading operations in Baltimore
A flexible and efficient combined transport solution
To execute this operation, LD Freight Solutions relies on the expertise of Wallenius Wilhelmsen, a key partner for both land and sea transport.
The logistics chain is built on a combined solution that includes:
- A land segment between the Shenyang production site and the port of Dalian, China
- A maritime crossing of the Pacific Ocean, transiting through the Panama Canal to reach the U.S. East Coast
- A second land segment from the port of Baltimore—where Wallenius Wilhelmsen operates its own terminal and multiple processing facilities—up to the Mirabel final assembly line in Canada
This setup offers a nominal transit time of 48 to 50 days, with two voyages per month, ensuring a streamlined, reliable and flexible end‑to‑end logistics solution.
