Superintendent (F/H)

Context

You will join LDA’s technical department in order to reinforce the superintendent team.

Missions

The Superintendent’s main duties are as follows

• Takes charge of the technical and financial management of the vessels allocated to him/her.
• Collaborates with the suppliers to find the most suitable products and manages obsolescence.
• Validates orders according to the ship’s budget and priorities.
• Ensures shipboard adherence to HSE rules and ISM procedures
• Port of call work: plans and organises work, complies with port regulations, selects suppliers and specialists;
• Careening works: plans and organises, writes specifications, requests quotations, planning of equipment replacements according to obsolescence, obsolescence, regulatory requirements, participates in the selection of the yard, supervises the works, checks invoices, initiates regulatory visits;
• Annual and class surveys: organises and initiates ship surveys, liaises with Flag and Class authorities, obtains class and statutory certificates, monitors deadlines;
• Carries out regular ship visits and prepares ship visit reports;
• Reporting: operational and technical to the Head of Technical Services; accounting and financial to the support services.
• Has a strong “client” culture which enables him/her to respond to the various requests of clients.

Prerequisites

Training/experience: Captain’s certificate and/or Head Mechanic or general engineer profile with a focus on mechanics.

At least 10 years experience in a similar position.

Language(s)/Other: Perfectly bilingual, you have a good command of the pack-office. Rigour, organisation, diplomacy and a very good sense of contact are required.

Word / Excel and a solid grounding in industrial IT (management of industrial networks) and automation.
