Flight engineer (M/F)

Activity

LD Tide manages the operation and management of a fleet of 3 catamaran-type offshore maintenance vessels, intended for the transport and transfer at sea of industrial personnel specialized in the maintenance of the installations of the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm.

Mission

The Mechanic contributes to the operational efficiency of the vessel and ensures the technical management of the vessel as well as its maintenance in operational condition with a minimum of downtime.

Non-limiting tasks:

Under the authority of and in relation with the Captain, he/she is responsible for:

• Machine operation,
• Organizing and monitoring the maintenance of all the ship’s installations and equipment in accordance with the Company’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS),
• He/she immediately informs the Captain and the crew of any anomaly or technical malfunction, implements first level corrective actions and proposes longer term corrective actions;
• The Mechanic ensures that good safety practices for maintenance operations (personal protection, lockout/tagout systems and work permits) are followed by the crew and external contractors;
• Within the framework of the ISM and operations, the Mechanic actively participates in the development of operational and maintenance procedures in collaboration with the Captain.
• The Mechanic participates in regular risk assessments and applies the measures identified to avoid or minimize to a reasonable level the risks to health, safety and the environment;
• The Mechanic must be familiar with, comply with and apply all Safety Management System (SMS) policies. He/she knows the elements of the system applicable to his/her function and implements them in accordance with the recommendations of the system and the Captain;
• He/she shall immediately report any identified noncompliance or deficiencies to the best of his/her ability.

Prerequisites

Initial Training:

• Minimum 3000 kW Chief Engineer degree.

Experience:

• Offshore experience preferred
• Preferably experience in fast catamaran ship handling

Language(s) :

• Fluency in English is imperative, written and spoken.

Other(s) :

• Up-to-date medical clearance

Characteristics of the position

Location: Ship operating base in La Turballe (ideally local resident, accommodation not provided by the company).

Work schedule : 14 days/14 days rotations.

Type of contract: Permanent or fixed-term contract / ENIM regime – 12th category – GASPE collective agreement IDCC 3228.
