Signature of the official order
Mr. Philippe Louis-Dreyfus, President of LOUIS DREYFUS ARMATEURS group (LDA) today presented the order for eight bulk carriers to Mr. Dong Qiang, vice-president of CHINA SHIPBUILDING INDUSTRY CORPORATION (CSIC), a major Chinese state-owned enterprise group.
The official order was signed during the visit to Paris of Mr. Dong Qiang, accompanied by a delegation of TIANJIN XINGANG SHIPBUILDING HEAVY INDUSTRY shipyard which will ensure the shipbuilding of the eight bulk carriers - four Capesize and four Handymax vessels - in northern China, south-east of Beijing.
This order represents an investment of 330 million U.S. dollars and deliveries of the ships are scheduled between 2013 and 2014.
