The first motorway of the sea between France and Spain was inaugurated on September 16th, 2010 in Nantes and in Gijon.
This new line intends to reduce congestion on the motorways crossing the Pyrenees.
Drivers and tourists will have the benefit of being able to rest and relax during a 14-hour crossing three times a week.
France and Spain have granted their financial support into the scheme injecting an amount of 30 million euros for the first three years.
