Stamford, Connecticut – Wednesday 24th March, 2010
Philippe Louis-Dreyfus, president of Louis Dreyfus Armateurs group (LDA), received yesterday the “Connecticut Maritime Association’s 2010 Commodore” Award in the presence of 800 leaders of the world maritime industry. The Award ceremony took place during the Gala dinner in Stamford, Connecticut and guests included his wife, Mrs. Anne Louis-Dreyfus, Mr. Edouard Louis-Dreyfus, vice-president and Mr. Gildas Maire, chief operating officer of LDA group.
The CMA Award is given each year to a person member of the international maritime community “who has demonstrated leadership, vision and commitment to the maritime industry”. In his speech, Mr Louis-Dreyfus emphasized the need for the shipping industry, in today’s trouble waters, to return to its basic values : trust, loyalty and common sense.
“Do not forget that loyalty and trust are fundamentals of shipping, do not forget that “My word, my bond”, the “Baltic formula”, is not only a plea for ethics but also a token of efficiency for our shipping markets".
