HISTORY OF THE GROUP THROUGH ITS FLEET

LOUIS DREYFUS ARMATEURS was originally the shipping branch of the LOUIS DREYFUS Group, a French family business founded in 1851 by Leopold Louis-Dreyfus, starting with wheat trading in Alsace.

Today the Group is a major actor of dry bulk transportation and logistics, in addition to having diversified its activities in various complementary fields such as marine engineering, high sea towage and submarine cable laying; making the group a specialist of maritime industrial projects.

Here we recount the evolution of the LOUIS DREYFUS ARMATEURS Group from its inception to the strategic diversification encouraged by president Philippe Louis-Dreyfus, through economic crisis and the evolutions of the maritime industry as a whole.
