Fairmount Marine was set up thirty years ago and has been acquired recently by LDA. Fairmount Marine proposes its know-how and well-recognised skills in the ocean towage business to operators of drilling platforms, barges and FPSOs (Floating Production Storage and Offloading). It also enables its clients to dock floating equipments (such as platforms, drillships,...) on its large semi-submersible barges.
Fairmount Marine offers five modern (all delivered since 2005) and powerful (205t bollard pull) tugs as well as four semi-submersible barges capable to lift up to 50,000t. The skills of Fairmount Marine teams, added to such a modern fleet allow to answer its clients’ most exacting needs. By leaning against a partner such as the Louis Dreyfus Armateurs Group, Fairmount Marine will further develop its activities and investments.
LOUIS DREYFUS TRAVOCEAN SUBMARINE CABLE INSTALLATION
Louis Dreyfus TravOcean, a wholly owned subsidiary of Louis Dreyfus Armateurs, is a submarine installation contractor whose track record dates back to 1977 when it was founded in Marseille, France. Over the years, Louis Dreyfus TravOcean has developed a wealth of expert knowledge in the fields of laying and protection of submarine cables, covering in particular all types of soil conditions (from very soft to very hard), shallow water depths and all sizes of fiber optic, power and umbilical cables.
Louis Dreyfus TravOcean provides turnkey installations throughout the world, including transportation of cable from factory to site, mobilisation of installation vessels or barges, loading cables aboard installation vessels or barges, laying and burying cables, installing additional protection, as required.
On top of this contracting activity Louis Dreyfus TravOcean is specialized in the design and construction of trenching equipment required during burial operations trenchers, vibro-ploughs, jetting sledges, light weight ploughs, deburial crawlers, .......
After accrued considerable know-how in the laying and protection of submarine cables, with acknowledged expertise both in the design of burial systems and in their operations out at sea, diversification into wind farm cables is therefore a logical step for Louis Dreyfus TravOcean.
The company had first experience of burying inter-turbine cables in 2010, off the English coast and similar plans and projects for other windfarms.
The Louis Dreyfus TravOcean’s Quality Management System is certified by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) to ISO 9001 : 2008 standard.
