For over one century drybulk transportation has constituted and today still remains the main maritime activity of Louis Dreyfus Armateurs. Ever since it was created in 1893, Louis Dreyfus Armateurs has built, owned, managed and operated vessels able to load Drybulk cargoes.
Through Cetragpa SNC, a fully owned subsidiary, it operates today a diversified fleet of about twenty units ranging in size from 20,000 to 180,000 tons dwt. Also adequately diversified in types, from state of the art Handies and geared / grabbed Supramaxes to the most cost effective Dunkirk-max coal and ore carriers including double hull Capesize vessels, Cetragpa’s fleet is able to take on the various challenges of the World’s major industries.
With its fleet and a transported tonnage in excess of 20 million tonnes annually consisting mainly of coal, ores and various concentrates, Cetragpa enjoys worldwide a respected position as a leading actor in the global dry bulk transportation sector.

Over the past decades and in all sizes, Cetragpa has established and consolidated its reputation of being a reliable, creative and yet competitive and flexible long term partner. Many leading Charterers worldwide, whether steel producers, mining groups or power companies have valued Cetragpa’s proven expertise in managing contracts of affreightment of long duration and its understanding of the specific requirements of the various global industries. Its current portfolio of diversified contracts illustrates the confidence placed in Cetragpa by several IPP’s developers and industrialists, whose constraints include in particular large volumes, short hauls and limited stockpile capacity and charterers who favour Cetragpa’s ability to offer tailor-made services over the whole range of shipment sizes.
OPERATIONAL SAFETY : A MAJOR OBJECTIVE
Louis Dreyfus Armateurs prides itself in conducting all its operations, both at sea and on-shore, under strict safety procedures. Many improvements in safety at sea, now widely adopted, have been developed within Louis Dreyfus Armateurs fleet operations. Recently, Louis Dreyfus Armateurs was a front-runner in ordering double-hull Capesize vessels and instrumental in having the Blue Charter adopted by the members of Armateurs de France as their commitment to safety and to protecting the environment.
